It is my distinct honor to announce that “The Chase” has been selected by Doritos as one of their five finalists (out of nearly 2,000 submissions) in their “Crash the Super Bowl” competition! This spot is one of three that I produced on the RED ONE camera, alongside producer Chris Roberts, under the Resolve Entertainment banner of executive producer Jeff Bartsch. The crew was fantastic, the cast was wonderful, and the star, Snowball the Cat, is as adorable as they come. Special props go to the spot’s writer/director, Chris Armstrong, and the following actors: Melissa Disney (singing voice of Snow White), Jeremy Searle, and Braxton Davis Honeycutt.
You can help us in the next stage of the competition by voting for us early and often! The highest-rated commercial will actually be aired during the Super Bowl! Additionally, we might have a shot at winning $1 Million if the commercial is then ranked #1 on the USA Today Ad-Meter. You can vote once per day and we have information at our commercial’s official website: http://www.VoteForTheCat.com (when you follow the link, make sure to hit “Vote” next to “The Chase”). Oh, did I mention that you are entered into a drawing to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets each time you cast your ballot? Now go and vote!
This competition marks the 5th competition (out of 6 total) that I have produced that has either received an award, become a finalist, or outright won the contest. That is equivalent to an .833 batting average! If we win this time, that will be a 50% win record! Other wins include “Best Film of San Diego” (plus three other awards) in the 48 Hour Film Project 2004, with the short film Three Lives featuring Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), and the music video Give It Up for the Christine Evans Dailymotion Video Contest in 2007. Our other finalist award was for the pilot script of our animated series Dr. von Kaiser in the Slamdance Teleplay Competition, an honor of beating out nearly 500 other scripts. The other two projects, Wannabe and Get Off My Set! were made for the 48 Hour Film Project 2005 and the Filmaka Demo Pilot competition for FX, respectively. The former received regional accolades and both are currently being reformulated for possible new media series.
For those contacts in San Diego, I will be in town from January 13th through the 15th (primarily to emcee the San Diego Filmmakers meeting). If you are interested in personally congratulating me or viewing the spot on a big screen before I drive up to Salt Lake City for the Sundance Film Festival opening weekend, this would be an opportune time.
Thank you for your continued support and please keep an eye out for additional news from AntiKaiser Productions in the coming weeks, not just for updates to the Super Bowl competition, but also as we announce a whole slate of new projects we have in development for 2009! Our official website is located at http://www.antikaiser.com
